AITA for taking a job at the same restaurant as my roommate/best friend after she asked me not to?

Look, if he needs the job urgently and can’t get it elsewhere, it’s not something she has a say in. Matters like jobs and income are very sensitive and definitely not something to be nitpicky about. We do not know this information, and I would only side with her if he really didn’t need the job and took it either way. Still, the reasons she is giving to forbid him to take the job are weird, and the solutions he provided are even weirder. There’s obviously a middle ground between not bullying each other and pretending they are complete strangers. I don’t understand this relationship, lol.

Where the guy seems to tip the balance in his favour is when he says she owes him money and he is working extra to cover for her; that’s where his friend should draw the line of her demands. As I always say, they’ll have to solve this by speaking to each other! When did this become so unusual?
