Who would want to cook a delicious, savory meal at home for $7 when you can order a $30 fast food meal from DoorDash? Me. Definitely me. Some days you get home from work so late and so tired that cooking a meal requires the same amount of energy as running a marathon. I am sorry, but I'm choosing the overpriced fast food. And no shame will be tolerated. I mean, come on, we live in a time where you can get some delicious Italian food delivered to the door of your house; who wouldn't want to take advantage of that? The prices are insane, and the math makes no sense; suddenly you are stuck with a $35 meal for a subway sandwich, but I guess you can say comfort is a luxury.

I think ordering food is also a form of self-care. You get to treat yourself to some delish food, make it a date night, choose your favorite movie, and if we're feeling crazy, maybe even watch it from bed. I remember being a kid and watching Gilmore Girls, seeing Lorelai and Rory constantly eat pizza and Thai food; oh man, I thought that was peak adulthood luxury. It felt completely cinematic to me: a movie would be playing, food would be eaten from a cardboard box, steam coming off it, and the takeout bags would be all over the room. Nothing felt as appealing to me as that image. And you know what, I am sure we all feel like that when eating from our living room floor. You don't need a Hollywood crew to romanticize your life, only overpriced food and a good lighting setup, and boom, action baby!

So next time you are doubting ordering food delivery, I say you do it and make it a date with you and your cats. Money comes and goes, but that Pad Thai… well, it will still be there, but I still think you deserve it.
