Sweet senior dog saves himself after causing panic when pawrent comes home to unlocked front door and missing dog, after hours of hysteric searching pup appears back at front door waiting for pawrent: ‘I guess he knew enough to go back home on his own.’

Well all need a hero in this life, but when we find ourselves doing something silly that we know we are not meant to, then sometimes that hero has to be ourselves. So join us for the story of the senior pupper who had to save himself after making the silly decision to waltz out of the front door of his home that had mysteriously opened while mom was away.

Dogs are not a dumb bunch, but they do have moments when they think they are smarter than they are and before long they find out they have bitten off far more than they can chew. Which is pretty much what happened to one doggo when upon seeing an open front door to his house he decided a solo adventure was on the cards. Something that his street smarts and savvy knowledge of hooman society would help him with. Only he had no such knowledge seeing as that is his mother's domaine and once he was out in the wide world, without a leash to tie him to something or someone, it all became crushingly clear.

However, this was around about the same time that his momma found out he was missing, sending her on a frantic search mission to bring her mutt home before any bad could befall him. Little did she know she would be setting off on a wild goose chase to find a doggo that had already found its way home. And in an admission of defeat the two shared a look of understanding when this pupper's pawrent finally returned from her frustrating search. Giving them just enough time to curl up on the couch and crash out in front of the television.

Goodness this is such a sweet story. It is a rarity that we get to learn so much about a pupper and pawrents’ shared backstory. The context which makes their relationship so deep and meaningful today as it is. You can only wonder about all the silent looks, the close comforting cuddles and the longing they had for one another when they were apart. This is a relationship that has stood not only the test of time but also every other possible test in the world. There is nothing that could possibly come between them at this point. Or is there?

Wow, that has got to be painful as all heck, not to mention terrifying. Like how did the door end up open, did someone open it? Did the dog open it? The only thing that could make a person feel more vulnerable and scared in the home they live in than coming home to an open front door is to also have your pupper be missing. But we have a feeling that things are going to turn around quicker than what this pawrent might have thought possible and in the most pawfect of ways at that.
