Can you believe that I found her in the garbage?

I'm not kidding. She was in my neighbours rust scrap shed as a tiny kitten, chased in by his dogs. My
My family, who had 3 cats already, decided we could not leave a defenseless kitten in the shed.
We brought her in, acclimatized her slowly, a vet friend was able to squeak her in for shots,
and a cat rescue we knew covered the cost as a favour since a cat they gave us had a
terminal i ess and they and we didn't know. They felt bad and said they owed us one.
It's been 2 years now. She is named Baby. She is my pretty princess. She thinks she rules the house.
She does!
MerryTWatching Dog owners: oh I prepped for months to adopt! Cat owners: I found him in the trash RAIDER JUNS
Mark_Kima Strong with the Force, you are. Home with me, you shall come. Mine, you shall be. My curtains... destroy them, you will.
redruMKitty4 I have one of those too... very literal and accurate description you made.
CareerBaby One person's trash is literally this angel? I can't believe someone threw away this perfect loaf. Thank you for saving her, she looks so loved and safe now.
MissActiv From garbage to the good life. She went from being discarded to living like a queen, you can see it in her eyes. She hit the jackpot with you.
Ok_Illustrator_3980 Sometimes diamonds are in the garbage.
Spare_Equipment3116 OP I like to think she was a white cat, but the rust seeped in.(this is not actually the case, so not be alarmed)
kcpistol I found one of mine in the garage when she got stunned trying to escape through a mirror, another on the battery of my son's car.
Spare_Equipment3116 OP The car distribution system works in mysterious ways Imao
thatboredchickster Yes because that's where all the best cats come from.
Spare Equipment3116 OP Exactly. Baby is perfect and also from the scrap pile. She was the princess of rust, all I did was give her a more comfy kingdom.
capybarafan4 You can see how loved she is from her facial expressions and body language. You picked the perfect name, too: she radiates "deeply cherished baby" energy.
TomCorsair Yep, we found this guy in a bin under our apartment building.. he was a lot smaller then.
yosbeda Would've loved to see what she looked like as that shed kitten, but honestly she looks so settled now it barely matters, chubby, glossy, completely unbothered, like she's always lived there. Good on your family too, for real. There's plenty of people who'd have just left her in that shed, so seeing someone not do that, even over something as "small" as a cat, still counts for something.
Spare Equipment3116 OP We would not even consider it! My whole neighborhood to be honest. Our neighbours specifically came to get us immediately because we are the streets "cat house"(all indoor).
They were rehabbing street dogs from Mexico, which naturally might have done what was needed to survive and had a prey drive. I do not blame the dogs at all, but nor were we gonna leave her there.
yosbeda That's a genuinely lovely detail, being known as the street's cat house is such a good thing to be known for. No blame on the dogs either, that's just instinct. Just glad the outcome was someone came and got you instead of letting it play out.
