Parents forbid 15 and 21-year-old daughters from accessing their inheritance if they weigh more than 150 pounds: 'This will not hold up in court.'

In what world is this enforceable by law?

Nobody is entitled to an inheritance from their parents or grandparents. If you've proven time and time again to be totally irresponsible with large sums of cash in a way that's harmful to yourself and others, I wouldn't blame your parents for giving their life savings to your sister under the condition that she never give you a dime. At the same time, it's understandable to be disappointed if your parents don't include you in their will when you've been nothing but a good child to them, especially if you know that they have sizable assets to spare. 

What do you think is an unacceptable reason from withholding inheritance? This story has one. The parents refuse to give their daughters their inheritance if they weigh above 150 pounds at any point, even if they're carrying a baby.

    Majestic Republic_45 Wow - this is funny and it's not. Your parents must be into fitness. Seeing that both of you are women, are parents giving any slack if one or both of u get preg int? Your parents can set parameters in their Will how they choose. We don't have kids, but we have provisions for our nieces nephews like no dog or alcol issues and full time employment.

    Granny_knows best Seriously, they are so obviously like super worried about you ever getting married, so they want you to be thin enough to attract the right kind of man. So honor your parents and just like, dont eat too much, its really that easy. I mean, they dont have to leave you a dime. Maybe you can secretly sabotage your sister so she gains weight so you get it all.

  • If you're a lawyer, I'd love to know if this is enforceable by California state law. It might be in a revokable trust, but not a will, right?
