Dogs have long been protectors of hoomans. Back in the days when we lived in caves they protected us from predators. When we grew fields of food they kept unwanted grazers away and today they act as our pawsonal security. Well, at least that became the case for the canine in this story who diligently followed his young friend for hours on end, just to make sure he would make it home safe and sound.

Great pyrenees pups have been favored by farmers for a long time now thanks to their impressive size and competence as a farm doggo. But what the doggo in this story did fur his family goes above and beyond the call of duty of a simple farm pupper. This is the tale of a dog who had a deep and unspoken bond with a boy who himself struggled to speak. In their semi silent world they formed a bond unique to them and communicated in ways unimaginable to the average hooman. And it would come to be this connection that would save the young boy's life.

One night, one of their pawrents awoke to find that both the dog and the child were missing. A heart wrenching moment and one that sent them into full blown emergency mode. Calling in all the support and services they could to help locate the pair before something terrible might befall them. It is utter heartwarming and reassuring to know that there are such pure and loving relationships out there between man and dog that a dog would go to such lengths just to save their family member. Goodness, there is nothing that will make a pawrent’s heart sink quicker than finding their child and dog missing in the middle of the night. No less in the vast expanse of farm land that they live in. There could be all sorts of animals out there looking for a quick meal. But it is in moments like this that canine-kind tend to step forward and show what they are made off. That the years of treats and toys have not made them go soft and that when it is time to leap into action they are there.

Wow, what a relief and what a show of loyalty and support. It is not to be taken for granted that a dog would view the child leaving the house as an issue. This is something that could only come from a life of learned protecting behaviors as well as the unbreakable and silent bond the dog has with this child. We cannot imagine how hard it must have been for both of them. But at the same time how nice it must have been for them to be there for each other in their time of need.
