Cats have opinions about pretty much everything, and they're rarely shy about sharing them.

You'll know when dinner isn't coming fast enough. You'll know when you've disturbed a nap. You'll definitely know when you've picked them up at a time when they did not authorize being picked up. Cats may not speak our language, but that has never stopped them from making their complaints extremely clear.

Some are masters of the judgmental stare. They'll sit across the room looking at you like you've personally embarrassed the entire household. Others prefer a more dramatic approach. Airplane ears come out, tails start flicking, and suddenly you're wondering what you did wrong. Sometimes the answer is absolutely nothing. They're just feeling spicy today.

Then you've got the cats who know exactly what they're not supposed to do and do it anyway. Tell them to get off the counter and they'll stare directly into your eyes while remaining firmly on the counter. Move them yourself and somehow you're the rude one.

The real problem is that cattitude is incredibly cute when it comes from a tiny furry animal. It's hard to take a grumpy cat seriously when their angry little face just makes you want to squish their cheeks. Probably don't do that, though. They already seem annoyed enough.

And despite all the sass, cat pawrents know how quickly these little divas can change their tune. The same kitty who wanted nothing to do with you ten minutes ago will suddenly appear demanding cuddles because now they've decided it's affection time.

That's life with cats. You follow their rules, respect their moods, keep dinner on schedule, and accept that you're probably being judged at all times.

We wouldn't have that cattitude any other way.

  • There is absolutely no winning an argument with a cat because they simply do not care what you have to say. You can explain your side, present all the evidence, and make the most convincing argument of your life, and your cat will just stare at you like you’re wasting their time. They’ve already decided they’re right, and nothing you say is changing that. Eventually you just have to accept defeat and move on. The cat certainly already has.

They’ll give you the nastiest side-eye, scrunch up their little faces, and stare at you like you’ve personally ruined their entire day. There’s no attempt to hide the disrespect either. They want you to see it. If your cat has something to say about you, trust us, you’re going to know about it.

  • Cats can serve up more attitude than anyone else in the house and somehow we’ll still love them just as much. They can glare at us, ignore us, complain about dinner, and act personally offended by our existence, and five minutes later we’re telling them how perfect they are. They really get away with everything just by being cute. No matter how much cattitude they throw our way, we’ll always come crawling back for more.
