Concert fan refuses to switch seats with a friend who bought a restricted-view ticket for $70 less, even after the rest of the group agrees: 'I specifically paid extra for a decent seat'

If you buy the cheapest ticket, don't expect your friends to swap seats with you at the concert. You paid for that view, so that's the view you get. End of story.

Why force your friends to share their seats with you after you bought the cheapest ticket, knowing the view was restricted? It's absurd to ruin your friends' experience if they paid more to have a decent seat. Next time, you should buy a seat you will enjoy more, or at least don't expect them to swap seats.  Everyone else doesn't have to share that restriction with you if that's not what they paid for. 

That's what happened to this group of friends. A Reddit user posted this story on the AITApod subreddit, explaining that three of them bought tickets in the same section when they went on sale. The fourth friend waited a few days and purchased a restricted-view seat because it was $70 cheaper. Fair enough. There's nothing wrong with saving money on a concert ticket. 

The day of the concert came. This friend tried to stay in the row with the rest of the group, but the usher wouldn't let him. So he came up with another solution: ask his friends to take turns switching seats with him so he could enjoy a better view. Two of them agreed and gave up their seats for 20 minutes, but when he asked the last one to do the same, he refused.

The consequences of his seat decision shouldn't become everyone else's responsibility. If two friends had no problem with it, okay then. But as they were free to share their seats, the last friend was equally free to keep his. And that shouldn't be a problem.
