Boss must rehome Shar Pei dog after 7 years together, employee steps up to give her a new beginning: 'I couldn’t stand to see such a thing happen to such a sweet pup'

Rehoming isn't easy for any pet pawrent, but at the end of the day they must do what's best for themselves and for the dog as well. 

Rehoming a pet is usually someone's last resort. It gets a lot of backlash, and sometimes that can be fair, but let's be honest, people make mistakes. When someone adopts an animal they obviously have the best intentions with them, and never know in advance what will come later. When a couple gets married they never have the intention or thought they would divorce, and it's the same for getting a pet. Life happens, and when it does shame and judgement only go so far. Thinking practically about how best to handle the situation at hand is the only smart path. 

In this story, a 7 year old Shar Pei dog has been with her family for 7 years, so her whole life. The family in question are absolutely swamped with life, they have a new baby, and with work and everything they just don't have the time and energy to properly care for the dog. Of course, no one wants to rehome or think about the aftermath of the dog's world being dropped somewhere new. But it's reality, and ultimately it's better that the dog have this difficult transition to have a better life years to come, instead of living in a home of neglect. 

So this owner's employee takes the dog in! Absolutely from the heart, a heart of gold. But of course, this dog has known nothing except the family that took care of her for her whole life, and the learning curve to adjusting is a bit difficult. The dog is hit and miss, sometimes she's really well behaved, and at other times she paces around the home crying because she's confused where her previous family went. As sad as it is to acknowledge that the dog is going through a grieving, it's better that the dog has a new home with someone who can really give her the proper care and love she requires. The new owner reaches out to the internet for advice on a smoother transition.
