  • Frustrated homeowner looking out the window
  • Neighbor drove his trailer over my new driveway, says the cones were in a dumb spot
  • My new driveway has 2 ruts across the corner and my neighbor's position is that I should've put my cones in a better spot.

  • We had the whole driveway torn out and redone a couple weeks ago. It cost $9,400 and the contractor told us to keep EVERYTHING off it for 7 days while it cured. We put orange cones and caution tape across the front like he said.

  • The day after the pour I was standing at my kitchen window when my neighbor came home with his landscaping trailer. Since he always has trouble making the turn into his own driveway with that trailer, he just cut the corner

  • right through my cones and across the edge of the new concrete with the truck and the trailer both. I ran out and he literally rolled his window down and said "concrete's tough, it'll be fine." There are 2 ruts across the

  • Our contractor came back out and quoted $1,650 to cut out that section and re-pour it. I showed my neighbor the quote and he said to send it to his insurance.

  • I've asked for the insurance info 3 times since then. The last time he said I should've put something heavier out there than cones if I didn't want people driving on it, and that I was being petty over a couple of scratches.

  • My husband wants to file in small claims. I'm not sure it's worth suing someone we're going to live next to for the next 20 years over $1,650. What would you do?

  • Red pickup truck towing a large trailer.
  • DollyFaeChiq i'd file honestly. he said send it to his insurance and then dodged you 3 times, so he's not paying unless he has to. send one written demand. with the quote and a deadline first, and if he ignores that too, small claims. he's the one who made it awkward, not you

  • Guilty-Committee9622 Yes it is worth suing him. Are you kidding me? He totally disrespected you and your property. Sue him!

  • 3-car-garage If you're actually worried about the next 20 years then set the precedence that he needs to fuck off right now. Otherwise, you'll be dealing with him for the next 20 years.

  • Guilty-Steak8246 Sue him or spend the next 20 years putting up with his escalating nonsense
    via u/RoyalAd5459
  • Unlikely-Flatworm-48 put a steel pipe bollard at the corner of your driveway because fuck your neighbor's landscaping trailer
    via u/RoyalAd5459
  • Accurate_Elevator368 File. The guy knows he harmed your driveway. Make him pay for it. He's dodging you thinking you'll just let it go, cuz that's what people like that do.
    via u/RoyalAd5459
  • FarmerDave13 Sue him, and then cement in a bollard on the corner of your driveway so he can't drift his trailer onto his your driveway. He will learn how to properly tow it.

  • JustTheGameplay "I'm not sure it's worth suing someone we're going to live next to for the next 20 years over $1,650." if you let this go, neighbor will know they can walk all over you for the next 20yrs...sue his dumb ass

  • Suburban home with a concrete driveway.
  • shelbycsdn A sad lesson I've learned in life is that bullies often only respect bigger bullies. I'm a woman who lives alone so I we'll understand not wanting a pissed and vengeful neighbor. But also there is holding boundaries, literally and figuratively in your case.

  • m33chm Um definitely file. The audacity. You shouldn't need a boulder to remind people to not use SOMEONE ELSE'S PROPERTY without permission. But definitely get a boulder for that corner. Or fill a couple cones with concrete and put them back there.
