Anime is a kind of animation originating from Japan. It's usually hand-drawn and computer animated with Japanese-inspired characters. In Japanese, “anime” just refers to all their animated series. However, the world outside of Japan uses “anime” as a colloquialism for Japanese-animation, specifically to animation produced in Japan. What truly makes this style of animation is its fandom.
Recently, the two largest streaming services for anime content announced they are merging and fans—also known as “otakus”—are so excited. Now they can get an overload of their favorite content under one service and not have to pay for them separately. Otakus on TikTok are a plenty and always post anime-related content to keep the fandom growing.
If you're new to the world of anime, there are lots of content creators that don't only post about specific shows and characters and give you an easier grasp on the fandom in general. It's a good introduction to the universe if you're first starting to get into it. The fans have created such a huge community of people who love anime.

This character is actually quite a point of contention between fans because even though she has existed for over 100 years, she “technically” supposed to physically be a 13-year-old girl. So… it's weird—just check out that heated comment section.
