Widow Starts Debate After Telling Husband’s Mistress About His Death

There are few things in this life that are more complicated to navigate than our relationships. When you take all the complexities of being yourself and combine them with someone else dealing with these things in a whole different way, there’s plenty of opportunity for things to go wrong.

Some find this dynamic hard enough when they’re just talking to a co-worker or getting rung up by a cashier, so we can only imagine how difficult it can get when it comes to our most intimate connections. It doesn’t take a genius to see how easy it can be to get into a predicament that it’s hard to get out of in this area.

Top of the pile when it comes to the potential for messy, dysfunctional relationships is marriage. While the bond between parent and child might have the edge when it comes to formative traumatic experiences, making a (usually) active choice to create a contract with another person that binds you for life is a decision that feels like it’s all on you.

Nothing brings this into focus like when a significant other dies. No matter what the relationship dynamic was like when they were alive, their passing not only lands you with a period of mourning — you’ve got to get their affairs in order, too.

Sometimes, the meaning of this can be all too literal, as @bridgettedavis08 recently found out. Following the passing of her husband of a decade who had been unfaithful, she decided that the best course of action was to inform his mistress that he had died.

After she posted about the cringe-inducingly awkward interaction on TikTok, viewers didn’t know what to make of the situation.

Some found the way in which she had approached the problem to be petty, not least because she refused to tell the other woman where her husband had been buried. There’s no denying that grief doesn’t have you functioning at your best, and it can be especially difficult when there are other negative emotions (and people) involved. However, it’s kind of understandable that she had her limit.

Others applauded her behavior.

There were a lot of people out there who could relate to the rollercoaster of emotions that she was probably experiencing, as well as those who were baffled at her rival’s reaction to the unfortunate news. The claim of immortality seemed to only scratch the surface. “The ”No." said more words than you could ever say", claimed @pickleand.co.

Bridgette had a message for those who didn’t approve of how she handled the situation.

It’s fair to say that she didn’t appreciate how some had judged her actions. It’s not a problem that many people will ever deal with. This makes it hard to know how to react to it, even when you’re in the relationship.
