The Turkey: Bird of Courage

Because today is Thanksgiving here in the USA, I thought it would be a good idea to honor the turkey. Maybe not the most squeedorable bird, the wild turkey still deserves some attention. Benjamin Franklin even once wrote:

"The turkey is [...] a respectable bird, and withal a true original Native of America... He is besides, though a little vain and silly, a Bird of Courage."
