It wasn't the first ever, but it was definitely the first huge hit of the genre. The classes, aka the mercenaries, are still loved today. People make fan art, SFM videos, jokes, memes, tons of content about them - every day. And over the years, I've realized they're probably my favorite cast of

Text - It's because they're so simple. There's really not much going on with any of them. I mean that as a compliment. Because they're so simply designed, yet each one is so unique. While a little more stretched, some scenarios in the goofier SFM videos could still certainly exist in the comics. The great thing about Team Fortress 2's level of realism is that it's at such a precise point between realistic and silly. It rides fine line I've yet to see any other game or fictional world achie

Text - Even on the holidays, the mercenaries are always doing something special. Part of what makes them feel real is that they're often shown as living somewhat normal lives, away from the fighting, enjoying Christmas (or Smissmas, in their universe), living in regular neighborhoods, having small chat at the office, the list goess on Through holiday events and the endless waves of user-created content, the mercs almost feel real. At their cores, they're just bare-boned, 'here's their class and
