    Getting Around the Terminals

Fort Lauderdale has four terminals that are all connected by a courtesy airport shuttle bus. It travels around the airport terminals from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, and from the Rental Car Center to the airport 24 hours a day. All shuttle bus stops are located on the arrivals (lower) level of the airport. Look out for blue signs that say 'Shuttle to Terminals'. Have a look at the Fort Lauderdale terminal maps and ask an airport attendant if unsure.

    Bus, Train and Shuttle

    Catch the Bus:

There is only one bus that travels to and from Fort Lauderdale Airport: the Broward County Transit (BCT) Route 1 Bus. The last stops of this bus are the Broward Central Terminal in the north, and Adventura Mall in the south. The Route 1 bus arrives and departs from the Rental Car Center (RCC), so passengers must travel to the airport via the shuttle bus (explained above) or vice versa if leaving the airport. Route 1 buses depart every 20 minutes during working hours and less regularly during the late night and early morning. One-way tickets cost $2. See the Broward County Transit website for more information.

    Take the Tri-Rail Train:

The Tri-Rail train is the only train that connects with Fort Lauderdale, reaching West Palm Beach Station in the north and Miami Airport Station in the south. The closest Tri-Rail station to the airport is the Dania Beach Station, where passengers alight and catch the Connector Route FLA-1, a free shuttle bus that takes passengers to and from the airport. This shuttle bus stops at Terminal 1, between Terminals 2 and 3, and between Terminals 3 and 4 (see the airport map). Trains leave every 20 to 40 minutes, and the connector shuttle bus leaves every 5-10 minutes

    Take a Shuttle:

The main shuttle company that operates to and from Fort Lauderdale is Go Airport Shuttle. They offer shared shuttle or private car services, which includes the option of renting luxury cars. Passengers can book a vehicle through the airport or via the website or telephone (773-363-0001). If the service is pre-arranged, the driver will meet passengers in the arrivals area. Go Airport Shuttle can also take passengers to the airport from their home or hotel. For more information, see their website

Taxi, Uber, Lyft, Via and Rental Cars.

    Fort Lauderdale Taxi Options:

Many taxi companies operate in Fort Lauderdale. The airport website has listed 20 authorized taxi companies that are able to transfer passengers to the airport. Passengers can order taxis online, on the telephone and from the airport. Taxis don't need to be booked in advance. Every terminal at the airport has a taxi rank on the arrivals (lower) level, where passengers can hail taxis. When coming to the airport, passengers should ask their driver to drop them at the departures area.

    Uber, Lyft and Via:

Uber, Lyft and Via are ride-sharing apps that are available to use for taxi transfers. To order a vehicle, passengers should download the app, fill in the information required, and choose a vehicle and pickup location. Fort Lauderdale Airport has designated areas for ride-sharing pick-ups, which are marked with signs. Passengers can also get picked up from any arrivals area. When being transported to the airport, passengers should enter the departures area as their drop-off location. Prices are usually cheaper than taxis.

    Rent a Car:

The Fort Lauderdale Rental Car Center (RCC) has 12 car rental companies for customers to choose from. To get to the RCC from the airport, passengers should catch the free airport shuttle bus. There are also a number of off-site car rental companies that are close to the airport and can be accessed by catching the #7 bus from the RCC. Rental car prices can be compared on rentacarnow.com. Rental cars should be returned where they were picked up. The RCC address is Rental Car Center, 600 Terminal Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315
