Move Between Terminals
LaGuardia Airport has 4 terminals, which are not connected to each other. Passengers can travel between the terminals using the free airport shuttle buses. There are three routes: the Purple, Red and Blue routes, all of which operate 24 hours a day. The buses arrive every 8-10 minutes during peak hours, and every 15 minutes during off-peak times. The bus stops are located outside every terminal, but if unsure, ask an airport attendant. Passengers can find a map of the bus routes on the airport website. It also has a live route planner for the airport shuttle buses.
The airport shuttle buses don't go to every terminal; their routes are as follows:
Purple Route: terminals B, C and D, Daily Parking in terminals C and D.
Red Route: terminals A, C and D, Daily Parking.
Blue Route: terminals A and B, Daily Parking in terminal A and the B Wait Area.

Bus, Subway and Train
LaGuardia Airport is the only airport in New York that doesn't have a direct train route connecting with it. To get to LaGuardia Airport with public transport, passengers are able to catch the Long Island Railroad, the Metro-North Railroad, or the subway, then transfer to a bus that goes directly to the airport. This option is by far the cheapest option for getting to LaGuardia Airport. It can take up to two hours to get to Manhattan from LaGuardia Airport.
There are 5 buses that go to LaGuardia Airport: M60 SBS, Q70 SBS LaGuardia Link (both operate 24 hours a day and must be paid with a Metrocard or a paper ticket before boarding the bus), Q47, Q72, and Q48. All connect with subway or train lines, and to check which is the best way to access the following buses, passengers can use the MTA Trip Planner, Google Maps or Moovit. The LaGuardia Airport public transportation page also provides details for which trains and subway lines connect to the buses.
Train, subway and bus tickets cost $2.75 and can be paid using a Metrocard, and transfers between buses and the subway are free.
The buses do not stop at every terminal in the airport. The M60 stops at terminals A, B, C and D, the Q70, Q72 and Q48 stop at terminals B, C and D, and the Q47 stops at terminal A. Bus timetables are on the MTA website.
