Has science gone too far? For all of 2018, Tide pods have been the candy-colored subject of tragically unsatisfied hunger. Until now.
Tumblr user sometimessmarmyshared this "Hypothetical" recipe for the detergent, and we can't wait to see it come to fruition. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!
Hypothetical Tide Pods Recipe
Four components: Blue swirl, orange swirl, white gel, and a plastic shell
First, the Plastic:
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Boil the water, add gelatin mix (optional: add soda for flavor). Stir in until mix is completely melted. Let cool slightly. Cover brownie pan with parchment paper, and pour a very thin layer of gelatin mixture onto parchment. Place brownie pan into fridge and let sit overnight until hardened.
Blue and Orange Swirls:
If you had the silicone needed to make your own mold, you could make swirl molds and then add berry blue and orange flavored jello to the swirl molds. If you can't make a mold or find a candy mold that makes moon shapes (like this one on etsy), poor blue and orange jello into an ice cube tray. Place tray in fridge overnight.
White Gel:
Ingredients:
Recipe (using the "white layer" instructions found in this jello recipe. There's probably a better way):
Mix sweetened condensed milk with 1 cup boiling water. In a separate small bowl, sprinkle 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin over ½ cup cold water. Let stand for a few minutes and then add ½ cup boiling water to dissolve the gelatin. Add to the milk mixture and stir to combine. Cool to room temperature. Optional: add desired flavor, such as vanilla extract or soda
