'Karen' Accuses Hibachi Chef Of Being Racist After He Said 'Kobe' While Landing A Good Toss

Hibachi dinners are one of the best for any special events or fun date nights. It's more of an experience than a regular restaurant. You get to watch all of your food get prepared, and conversate with the chef right in front of you while they're working their magic.

A key part of the performance is whenever a chef throws something in the air and lands it somewhere impressive. It could be an egg in his front pocket, or a shrimp inside a customer's mouth, it's all very fun to watch.

This chef threw a bottle and as it landed perfectly he exclaimed, “Kobe!" and “Black Mamba,” which was one of Kobe Bryant's nicknames.

He clearly meant it in a respectful way. It is not uncommon for people to yell, “Kobe” after making any kind of a good throw, because it is what the late basketball player was most reputable for.

Watch to see how uncomfortable this customer makes this encounter.

The Awkward Confrontation

Obviously, the chef was not trying to disrespect Kobe in any way, and as the video went on it became clear that the women had no idea who Kobe Bryant even was. Still, she thought she should interject.

Luckily this chef was so suave that he didn't let her take it too far.

But let this be a lesson to anyone, if you do a hibachi meal, and you don't have enough friends to fill the table, this could be the woman eating next to you.

Some of the most iconic comments to this clear misunderstanding include,

“the lady is actually offended but she knows literally nothing”

“'leave him alone'” lady probably didn't know who Kobe is”

“the lady didn't know the black mamba hahaha”

“I'm British, white, in my late 30's, never seen a single basketball game in my life and I knew what he was talking about😬”

“She tried to do something and failed”
