"Gender-Neutral" Has Made Its Way Into The Cookie World
To be completely honest, we never even thought of Gingerbread man cookies as even having a gender, regardless of having "man" in their title. They were just cookies, in our eyes, delicious cookies that belonged in our bellies.
The year is 2019 and cookies are getting the non-gender treatment.
A cafe in New Zealand, The Tannery, went viral after the owner renamed his selection of gingerbread men cookies to "gender-neutral gingerbread person" cookies. The owner, Andre Cettina, was inspired to make the change to the classic cookie when a customer asked, "why the human-shaped snacks were called 'gingerbread men' and not 'gingerbread people'."

if we could just recommend one thing, it would be to shorten that name. That is a really long name for a cookie. Can you imagine going up to the cash registry and asking for one 'GingerBread Gender Neutral person'?
