You would think that after such a long time in lockdown, our pets would finally get used to us staring at the computer screen all the time and occasionally talking to it. But this awwdorable French bulldog is the ultimate proof that they have not. It's obvious that this pupper is confused by the idea of this light box somehow being more interesting than her, and we can't blame her.

Animals and Zoom calls are always the funniest mix. Who could ever forget the viral twitter thread about cats sitting in on Zoom calls? Iconic. This may be one of the only things that we actually liked about lockdowns. Well, that and the fact that we got to cuddle our doggos all day every day for as long as we wanted to.

Crafty Kid Cons Adults To Get Out Of Schoolwork

People should never underestimate the lengths someone will go to in order to get out of doing something. The effort may seem antithetical to laziness, but for responsibility-averse people, the result often remains satisfying. This advanced form of avoidance doesn't just bloom with adulthood. It's often a skill that is learned in childhood. And Twitter user @mfpiccolo recently gifted the internet with a thread that proves this scheming starts early. The story is about his niece, who like many other kids these days is attending class on Zoom. It shouldn't be surprising that the experience leaves something to be desired after enjoying ones education IRL. But while most kids have opted to slog through remote learning, this 8 year old decided to hatch a scheme that would leave her free from the oppressive bonds of online education. Her plan didn't just work - it stumped adults for weeks. The 17 tweet saga is so entertaining that Jimmy Kimmel had our little hero (and her mom) on his late night television show. But you don't have to take his (or our) word for it. The whole damn thing can be enjoyed below.

4th Grader Punished With Zoom Detention, Mom Says It's Ridiculous

Most of us can't really imagine what it's like to be a young child in zoom-school. Personally, I could barely focus in regular grade school. On a computer in your own home, there are a million distractions that could take your attention away at any moment. In general, nobody argues that it is the ideal learning environment, but it is the best that we can do until this bizarre time passes. However, it is important that teachers realize not everything can be perfectly moved over to zoom. Sure, we can do read-aloud, quizzes, projects, but... detention? This one might be taking it a step too far.

Lawyer Enters Virtual Court Hearing With Cat Filter Activated, Clarifies That He Is "Not A Cat"

This may be the best thing to happen in 2021 so far. A Texas lawyer entered a court hearing over the popular video conference app, ZOOM, accidentally having activated a cat filter. Of course, the incident soon went viral on Twitter and everyone can't get enough of the hilarious mishap. In the video, Attorney Rod Ponton struggles to deactivate the adorable and silly kitten filter, Judge Roy B. Ferguson can be heard trying to help Ponton saying, "Mr. Ponton, I believe you have a filter turned on in your video settings."

Upon hearing this, Ponton reassures the judge that he is there to live and that he is in fact not a cat. Honestly, you just have to see it because it's simply too good.

After nearly a year of social distancing, quarantines, and working from home, navigating virtual methods for professional meetings and classes has been a challenge to say the least. We've seen our fair share of viral virtual meeting mishaps, from bosses stuck as potatoes, to the infamous 'Zoom dick' incident. Well apparently the technical difficulties have yet to be resolved for some. Just today, Texas lawyer Rod Ponton showed up to the virtual 394th district of Texas as a conspicuously worried kitten and couldn't figure out how to exit the Zoom filter. After some hilariously awkward back-and-forth attempts at troubleshooting the situation, Ponton finally accepted his newfound kitten-form and said, 'I'm prepared to go forward with it.' Respect.

Professor Shames Mom For Breastfeeding During Zoom Class, Internet Is Livid

As the coronavirus lockdown measures enter its eighth month, many parents have had to adjust to a new work-life balance. Working or studying from home while looking after your children isn't easy for anyone, and quite frankly, parents deserve a medal for keeping their families functioning during these difficult times. But it seems that some moms still can't catch a break, even in this 'new normal' way of living.

Marcella Mares, a California mom to a ten-month-old baby, was shamed by her professor for breastfeeding during an online class. She expressed her disappointment in a Facebook post, together with a picture showing her breastfeeding while studying (what a superhero!). Before the incident, her professor informed her and her fellow Fresno City College students that in order to receive credit for attending the class, they were required to keep their cameras and microphones on. Marcella emailed him, expressing that she was happy to do so but that she "Might need to turn them off to feed my daughter from time to time". Instead of her professor being understanding of her situation, he replied, "That's not what you should be doing during class. Do that on your own time."

After ignoring his shocking response, she opened the zoom class, where her professor announced, "I got this really weird email from a student stating she needed to do inappropriate things during lecture time. You guys need to understand that you have priorities now, and you need to put all those distractions aside or be creative when your child needs you and give your full attention in my class."

Of course, his response was utterly inappropriate, leaving Marcella feeling heartbroken and with no choice but to take the appropriate action against him and his clear discrimination. I can't imagine he is a parent himself, or he would have understood the kick-a** job this mother was doing by balancing parenthood with furthering her education. Breastfeeding is a natural and beautiful thing and not something that can be 'time-managed'.  When your baby is hungry, that's when you breastfeed and to be shamed into choosing between feeding your baby and getting an education is, quite frankly, shocking, especially in the current circumstances. Luckily, the internet jumped to Marcella's defense, leaving her hundreds of supportive comments. Check out her post and some of the responses below.
