The House That United Artists Built

This is the legendary Pickfair Estate, built by Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks (Sr.), two of the greatest stars of the silent film era! Pickford and Fairbanks (who were married), along with their friends Charlie Chaplin and director D.W. Griffith, founded the United Artists film studio in 1919 - prompting another studio exec to comment, "the inmates are taking over the asylum."
