The Pacific Northwest of the United States has some of the most impressive and beautiful wildlife, but perhaps the most interesting species native to this region are the black bears and grizzly bears that inhabit this area. Many people are bear-y scared to encounter these species in the wild, because they can sometimes react aggressively when startled, but by and large these bears are simple and sweet creatures who want to exist in peace and not be disturbed. In this case, after a devastating wildfire broke out in Washington, contact had to be made with two black bears in order to save their lives.
Two good samaritans who had seen these bears walking around their property before via security cameras and realized that there were two bear cub siblings who had been injured during the fires, and might not survive without human intervention. Thankfully PAWS, or the Pacific Animal Welfare Society, swooped right in to save the day. PAWS took the bear cubs in, and treated the third degree burns that they had suffered during the fire. Once both bears had had their burn injuries treated, it was time for the two siblings to reunite! Watch below to see how it turned out:
