People Who Were Accused of Crimes They Didn't Commit

Whether it was last week or thirty years ago, people remember being accused of things they didn't do. It's one of the most maddening feelings to be wrongfully misjudged, especially when there's no way to prove your own innocence. Here are people who got blamed for some BS. Luckily, a few of them were able to prove their innocence. Some weren't so lucky.

Text - schnit123 273 points · 1 day ago Many years ago I worked in an office that had a really old candy vending machine that required you to put your coins in front of the item you wanted to buy and manually turn a crank to get it to drop. And because this machine was so old it also didn't have one of those covers that prevented someone from reaching a hand up into the slot and stealing off the bottom rack. Well somebody in the office figured that out and started stealing candy from the vending

Text - AussieOwned 117 points · 21 hours ago In Year 1 of Primary School, I was accused and punished for writing a rude note about another kid in my class. It made no sense considering I found the note on my best friend's desk, who I also sat next to, and gave it to the teacher (I thought it was the 'right' thing to do). After two sit-downs with everyone she suspected to be responsible for it, she somehow came to the conclusion that it must have been me who wrote the note. In retrospect I am gla

Text - slapwerks 23 points · 18 hours ago Guy in high school had the same name as me, he logged onto some school computers and put little person porn and goatse as the wallpaper... I had no idea why my mom was in the principal's office that afternoon, and was forced to eek out the information from my accusers. Good thing the guy that did was dumb enough to use his own student ID number. The school didn't check before they called me and my mom in My mom still laughs about the principal trying to

Text - Edymnion 1.4k points · 1 day ago Back when I was in college, I was taking a writing class and the room was full of computers with LCD monitors. Now, LCDS had just come out and those were some EXPENSIVE ASS monitors! I made a crack about "Damn, I know where I'm coming back to tonight!". Thing is, the room was literally robbed that night and all the monitors taken. I walked in, saw what had happened, and immediately threw my hands up and went "I swear to God I didn't do it!" Luckily they la

Text - ClownfishSoup 960 points · 22 hours ago In highschool, the teacher was going from desk to desk checking on our progress on a project. Before he gets to my desk, my friend in front of me unleashes hell with his ass. Silent but deadly. The teacher gets to me, leans in to see my work and then says "WHOA! Your breathe is horrible, what did you eat for breakfast!" Decades later, I go for a job interview where this same friend works. I'm flown out for the interview so it's an 8 hour interview w

Text - kingofthewildducks 379 points · 23 hours ago I once got a call in college from campus police telling me they were running an investigation and had questions for me. Being an upstanding citizen and wanting to help bring criminals to justice, I agreed. Their only question was "are you currently enrolled in the pep band." I was. They thanked me and hung up. About 2-3 weeks go by and I hadn't heard anything so I asked one of my other pep band friends if they got a similar call. She goes "oh i

Text - PostItFrustrations 247 points · 23 hours ago I have a lot of these. But most ridiculous was when I was about 13 and got suspended for getting in a fight on a day I was home sick. I guess my friend got in a fight and they were so used to me finishing her fights that they automatically assumed I was involved. And of course my talking back gave me detention that wasn't reversed when I proved I wasn't there.

Text - Jacob_Grayson 70 points · 21 hours ago I was one of a dozen suspects for 'The Hallway Shitter' in high-school a good twenty years back. Every one of the dozen (including me) turned out to not be the suspect, as another deuce was dropped while we were all being interrogated. I sometimes forget how odd my highschool was.

Well the girl in front of me repositioned herself in her chair and let out the loudest fart ever Imao. Everyone looked at me and my best friend 3 seats up looked back and looked right at me and blamed it on me lol. I felt bad for the girl cause she was obviously embarrassed but I never told anyone it was her.

On our way home he and a bunch of his friends vandalized a house by stomping on the Christmas lights? You had to come to school the next day to hear from the Principle and we bought replacement lights at Canadian Tire afterwards? Do you remember that?" Dad: "Oh yeah, I do remember that." Text - MontyGluDevair 595 points · 1 day ago 3 This is kinda a long one, but something that really stuck out to me in my childhood. When I was 6 years old I had to walk home with these other kids to their parents house to be babysat before my parents could pick me up after work. These other kids were older than me, and though I vaguely remember them, I remember that they were pretty rotten kids. One day around Christmas, we were walking after school when the son of my Babysitter and some of his

Text - We bought new lights, I had to write an apology letter, I had detention, and my parents threatened to deny me my Christmas presents. It was all very numbing as a really young kid. If I had actually broken the lights I think I would have been upset with myself, and that would have been easier on me to process. But I never ever forgot it. It wasn't really a frustrating memory, more of a sad one. I knew my parents wouldn't believe me because I was just a kid. Until I turned 20. On my 20th bi
