"You Got Krissed:" The Meaning Behind the Newest Kris Jenner Meme

This meme begs the question: “What does it mean to get Krissed?” Essentially it means, you got pranked. You got fooled. You totally thought that Zendaya and Tom Holland broke up and instead of googling whether that was a lie, Kris Jenner in a sequin green top broke the news to you.

The “you got Krissed” phenomenon mirrors the old internet trend of Rickrolling. To get Rickrolled mean that you're watching an unrelated video which gets interrupted with the music video of “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley. These bait-and-switch style internet pranks have found popularity more recently, with trends such as Get Stick Bugged Lol gaining prominence in 2020. The trend also imitates chain mail, telling those who got Krissed to “send this to a friend to get them #krissed too.”

Although “You just got Krissed” has blown up on TikTok, there are a lot of users who are getting fed up with the ubiquity of the trend.

“You got Krissed” will likely be one of those TikTok trends that come out with a bang and quickly die. Getting Krissed is shocking the first time, funny the third time, and downright foolish the tenth time. If you get Krissed, you may be entitled to financial compensation.
