Ryan Kelly is a comedian who has embraced that he “looks like a youth pastor.” His bits have a great following and he posts many of them on TikTok, making him a viral TikTok star with 4.2 million followers. One of his most recent videos that has him viral is a true story about when he was just in Disney Land.
He was there early to meet with some friends and said hi to one of the security guards just sitting there. They guard was friendly and said hi back and then asked if he could do them a favor. He was wondering if he could help with some training for one of their working dogs. He asked the comedian to strap a mystery satchel under his shirt and walk past the dog to see if he'll catch the scent.
The comedian happily agreed to and didn't think about any of the consequences until the process stared. He though maybe he was being set up, are these even real guards? Also, what kind of police dog is this—like, will he attack or just point?? Long story short, he had a mini panic attack and turned around right after passing the dog and said, “I've been busted!” The guards turned out to be real security guards and all was well. He even got to pet the forbidden working pup.
“I got busted by a drug dog at Disneyland. I was around on a Monday just having a great time, getting ready to go meet up with some friends. As I'm walking in I see this security guard. He's sitting there and I go, 'hey, how are you?'—because, trust me, as someone who's worked at Disney Land, just having someone recognize that you're a human being that breathes air means a lot to a day—so he goes, 'great! would you like to help me with something?' And there I am, just hooked, because I'm a people pleaser and I can't say no. So I go, ‘suuuuuure!’ And then he goes, ‘we’ve got a dog that's in training up there and he's getting kind of bored. Would you mind taking this satchel, which has bad smells attached to it, wrapping it around yourself, hiding it underneath your shirt, and then walking by the dog? By the way, if you get past the dog, DO NOT GO THROUGH THE SECURITY CHECKPOINT.'
I'm thinking a couple of things: First off is, what is in the bag?? Second off, am I just the worst traveler ever, that every airport needs that emergency sign warning you of, ‘do not take bags from strangers.' And here I am getting ready to take a bag from a stranger who has told me there are illegal goods in it… I'm the worst citizen traveler in the world! And so I just strap it to myself and I start walking by this dog. The dog was not that bored, because he immediately picked up on the scent and starts following me, dragging the handler with it. And I'm starting to panic because, I'm thinking, ‘wait, what type of dog is this?! Is this the type of dog that will just immediately go for the jugular and rip or is this the type of dog that will just point at you and be like, ’that guy's got drugs!' the snitch version? I don't care, but I'm really hoping it's the latter one.
As it's happening I'm panicking, was this even real?? Am I just part of a really dumb sting operation??? Are they setting me up?! And that's when I just turn around and go, ‘I’ve been busted…' And the guy smiles and goes, ‘good boy!’ And I didn't know he was talking about the dog at first so I go, ‘thank you!’ And then he kind of looked at me weird. And then he handed a toy to the dog who immediately knew that it was time to relax. And I gave them back the satchel. The other guy came up and goes, ‘thanks for helping us with that.’ I was like, ‘I’m really glad you guys were real security!' And then they were like, ‘would you like to pet the dog??’ And I got to pet a black lab named Sam and he was adorable. Also, I've learned two things from this: First off, if you are going to smuggle drugs, do it for security. And second off, I could never be a drug mule, because I just do not have the temperament. I would confess before I got to the airport."
This isn't the first time hearing about Disney security asking guest to help them train their working dogs. Another video last year went viral when another group of Disneyland guest were asked to do the exact thing as this comedian.
