Relatable Mom Goes Viral for for Showing How Mom’s Never Actually Get a Vacation From Being a Mom, Especially While Vacationing

We all know how helpful a mom-figure can be. Regardless of whether or not you grew up with your own mother at home, a friend’s mom to hang around, or if your dad became the mother-figure in the house, it’s certainly a pair of shoes that is tough to fill and is, apparently, a job that never ends.

Brenda Buss, a busy mother and Gen X TikToker, recently dropped a viral video showing how she spends her vacation.

Firstly, Brenda makes the point that she never actually gets a chance to stop doing her standard motherly duties. She still ends up being the one that cleans everything. Sure maybe her teenaged kids could probably step in to pick up the slack on that one, but noooo they’re on vacation.

Secondly, she points out that she’s still the one doing all the cooking! Maybe dad steps in for a BBQ cook out once during the week at the lake, but otherwise, we all know it’s too expensive to eat out for every meal for a family of 4 or more. Somebody’s gotta cook, and that’s where Mom always steps up.

And guess who’s work never ends when it comes to nagging the kids about sunscreen? Mom.

Even further, when the trip comes to an end, who is the one who will be washing all the clothes that everyone has soiled during their vacation adventures… You guessed it… Brenda.

Naturally that just leads to the only way that mom’s like Brenda can catch a break from their regular duties. Copious amounts of day drinking. Bring out the wine Karen, we’re getting drunk!

Same jobs, different location

Hundreds of moms like Brenda flooded the comment section, agreeing that the work of being a mom never actually ends. When you’re on vacation, it’s simply the same job with a different (and hopefully better) view. Perhaps we all took advantage of our mother-figure when we were little, spoiled about the ease that comes with vacationing and not really examining what (and mostly who) was making our relaxation possible.

So in that spirit, let’s all give our mom’s a break. Pour that woman a glass of wine and pick up a broom or a sponge for once. She’s earned it.
