They're just dressing like our founding fathers did…
There’s nothing more American than dressing up house pets in people-clothes.
Drennon Davis, an avid skit-maker, jokester, and kitty voiceover specialist, did exactly that this weekend, showing us exactly what animals think of human traditions and the shame that’s associated with our pleasure.
Imagine four cats in matching tutu outfits– it’s pretty irresistible, right?
The cuteness factor alone is enough to knock the socks off any ol’ person, especially since they are absolutely owning the colors that have, for a long time, represented this country’s freedom: Red, white, and blue. Honestly, any cat in human clothing that's not tearing apart the fabric or launching themselves into the walls is a pretty cute and rare commodity.
While four kitties in patriotic clothing is a jolly sight to see, Drennon takes his video to the next level, like many of his short skits, by giving each cat a special voice on camera. His voiceovers show that each cat has a mind of its own, voicing their opinions, personality, and disdain for the restraints of human clothing.
Drennon also explains the meaning of Independence Day in terms that any person enjoying the 4th of July festivity endures, begging the question: “Why am I wearing this ridiculous clothing?” Despite any feline protest, these cats still seem pretty happy in their outfits.
Well, George Washington wore a red, white, and blue tutu while he danced for our nation’s independence, so it must be both fashionable and iconic. That explanation alone is enough to convince Drennon’s four-legged friends that their tutus are entirely warranted. Not only that, but Drennon warns his kitties about the oncoming onslaught of fireworks, which we all know can be a traumatizing experience for any furry companion in the house, to which the cats seem to be pretty okay with as well.
Turns out, these four cats are actually the chillest cats in history, happily parading around the house in human-clothing and accepting their firework fate with grace.
God bless America. And, as Drennon makes clear to his kitties, if you are extra patriotic on the 4th, Uncle Sam will leave a hotdog under your truck.
