Quick Tech Support Tale About Wholesome Sales Rep

We're certainly more used to reading about tech support horror stories, but every now and again we encounter a tale that doesn't diminish our faith in humanity. Like this quick story for instance. You can vividly picture the wholesome silliness of Virginia, on the other end of the call. It definitely manages to paint a funny picture about how all this rapid technological development can manifest in the older generations helplessly trying to keep up with all the changes.

    Font - Virginia is 75 years old, "not good with computers", but has the best sense of humor and understanding I've ever had from a client. Every time she calls in she's always got something to say, which usually ends in a "I hope you've got your Vallium nearby!", And considers us all Wizards. We recently updated our software, and sent an email out notifying users of this.     Font - She says "Ok, I'm going to try to be a big girl and update this myself, but stay by the phone!" A few minutes go by, and the phone rings, sure enough, it's her on the Caller ID, so I pick up without using the standard greeting, and say "Hey, Virginia!"     Font - fireflyry · 3y I work in tech support and can confirm the older customers are the best. Usually up for a laugh and most importantly patient and work through issues slowly which nearly always results in a resolution. The worst are the teenage/early twenties males who think they are cyber ninjas and try and tell me how to resolve the issue...after ringing tech support. 18 •..
