Everybody has their own preferences about how they want their significant other to present themself. Some people like the e-boy look with their painted nails and hand tattoos. Some people prefer the sporty look where they got on their sweatbands and short shorts. And some people simp over hipsters in beanies, flannels, and aggressive man-buns. There really is someone for everyone. However, just because someone's 'look' isn't your cup of tea, it doesn't change how manly, masculine, or mature they are. We all ought to be a little easier on each other, especially when it comes to appearances. Live and let live as they say, but perhaps that is far too cheesy of a statement to actually take seriously.
So if you want to avoid being roasted on Twitter, my advice would be: Go ahead, share and celebrate your type, but don't try to use something as superficial as style as a basic standard for what qualifies a 'real man.'
Twitter user @ms_fishscale posted a status explaining that she doesn't take hoodies from her boyfriends because her boyfriends are allegedly always in business attire. It's difficult to know exactly her angle here, what point she is trying to prove. But it didn't take long for Twitter to take this funny post and run with it.
Twitter user @Kennaymart really took Lyssa's status and gave her what she wanted. I think I can see it now, the appeal. Mr. Bean is the epitome of manliness to me as well. It must be because of his stellar suit attire. Let's see if we can set them up together! I hear wedding bells already!
