In the 1776 US Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson famously wrote 'We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.' Looks like old Tom forgot to include women in the declaration. No worries, homie - we ended up getting that equality a whole bunch of years later. However, in the workplace, we still got a long way to go. On a Reddit thread, A Reddit user asked women about things their male coworkers did that they would have been fired for, and the responses were pretty crazy. Scroll down to widen your eyes in disbelief at some of these wild workplace stories.
Because my workplace is pretty darn good, I didn't expect other women's stories to be so crazy. After all, I had no good stories to share myself. But boy, was I wrong. Keep scrolling for the wildest responses on the thread.
In response to this story, one of the Reddit users argued that "this happens in industries were one gender is a clear majority. I'm in nursing for example (94% female at my hospital) and I hear this stuff alllll the time." Food for thought.
