Allowing someone to crash with you for some time is one of the most generous things to do. It saves them a lot of money and ensures a safe roof over their head. It can be very intimate to allow somebody into your space, but as long as they are respectful and don't take advantage of your generosity, it can be a very pleasant experience. But some people lack that social awareness, and they'll push you until you literally have no other choice but to pack their bags and leave them outside. After all, you're not running a charity.
