Woman Kicked Out of Dorm After Catching Her All-Male Class Saying Disgustingly Misogynistic Things on Video and Posting It to Social Media

It is not uncommon for women in STEM to describe their experiences are less than progressive. It's never easy being a woman, but being the only woman in such a male-dominated field can sometimes feel more than uncomfortable and frustrating, it can feel borderline unsafe. I've never experienced being the only girl in an all-male class, but I would hope that even the presence of one woman would cause these students to choose their words carefully so as to not offend anyone. Ultimately I'd hope even further that men speak about women with respect regardless of whether they are around or not. But I figured at least not making them uncomfortable in person could be considered the bare minimum.

This woman was the only woman in her tech class, and she caught her all-male class speaking as if she wasn't in the room. Truthfully, it seems they were speaking as if they had never met a woman before in their lives at all.

Before giving too much away…

Let's Watch

It's a bit difficult to watch every single word the guys are saying, but you can hear them refer to women as “One” as if they are objects to be purchased and well… violated. You can also hear them laughing about consent and women's rights in general. This situation, being surrounded by such ignorant men, may quite literally be any girl's nightmare.

The content creator,  @tank_on_e, shared this video and claimed that the school had already addressed the issue. But it seems that the school definitely did not plan on her sharing her experience because after the video went viral (it gained over 12 million views)  Kirsten seems to have been kicked out of her dorm.

Kirsten's Update

Clearly, there is more to this story that we don't know. But we think most people would agree that Kirsten should not be punished for sharing her experience online, it is her right. Obviously, the school doesn't want to look bad, but then maybe they should just provide more sensitivity training for their male students, rather than try to silence their female ones. Just a thought.

The top comment on her video says: Don't be shy, release the name of the school, the professor, and the names of the guys in that class. We just wanna talk.

And we definitely agree.
