Dealing with a company's bureaucracy can be a pain when you just need a simple task accomplished. But dealing with a lazy incompetent bureaucracy that does not appear to actually care about doing their job? That's a living nightmare, and it's one problem this Redditor found stuck with when they tried to update their credit card to match a recent legal name change. It's actually surprising to hear that in a case like this, it isn't the DMV, social security card, or insurance that didn't give them trouble — but this credit card company claimed they didn't receive the necessary documentation to make this change multiple times over the span of weeks. What's a frustrated customer to do? In u/Caro_Snoopy37's case, they angrily sent a fax through over 130 times to make sure there was no wiggle room for anyone to claim he had not sent what they asked him to.
When you're bogged down by an inexplicably complicated process, you might have to make power plays to complicate things even further to fix it. And when the only control you might have is someone's fax machine, you get stories like this guy who incapacitated a divorce lawyer's fax machine.
