We're no strangers to wild and infuriating stories involving HOAs acting up with all kinds of toxic behavior.
It sounds like this HOA (similar to many others we've read about) is definitely overstepping when it comes to their decision to try to tell a homeowner what they should do with their property. This thread was posted to Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit by u/nexttohoa, who opened up about his experience. Essentially, after inheriting his grandfather's house, this Redditor found himself completely abused by HOA fees despite not technically being a part of the community. He tried to contact the President of the HOA and received no response. He even crashed a meeting proved his lack of involvement in the community and still received pressure from the group.
The fact that this organization has the literal audacity to try to enforce rules and fees on someone who's not even part of the community is ludicrous. Striving for this kind of communal homogeneity is also wildly outdated. It all sounds like a poorly executed episode of Desperate Housewives.
You can imagine how the moral judges of Reddit's AITA community felt about it.
