Dora Wei lives in the Hill Country of Sri Lanka where there is no shortage of exotic wildlife. When she found a teeny tiny baby boar in a box at her doorstep, she was taken by surprise. "My gardener found her near my house in the early morning," Wei says in a video on her Instagram. "She was only a few hours old. She had been separated from her mom and was looking very cold."
"I asked around about how to take care of wild boars, and everyone said it's not easy if they are this young and that they will die without the mother, but we were determined to keep her. We read online that she would need to be fed every hour, so my boyfriend and I took turns sleeping in the living room with her for almost the first four weeks, feeding her every hour when she woke up and started crying." Wei and her partner knew that the boar would not have a chance at surviving without their help, so they stepped up to the plate and rescued her! This story warmed our hearts right up and we hope that it has a similar effect for all of you! Follow Wei's Instagram account for regular updates on this beautiful story.
The story of how it all began! We really appreciated how important it was to Wei that her dogs take a liking to the newest family addition as well. Friendship is beautiful throughout the whole animal kingdom!
Wei and her Partner would use warm water bottles to keep their newest addition warm, cozy, and comfortable. This is some five star treatment. Who wants to heat up a few adult sized water bottles that we can take a nap with when we finish work? Anyone?
Truly precious.
Hongry.
What an amazing transformation!
