We are taught from a young age that, "Sharing is caring." And it's true, it is imperative that children understand the value of sharing. It is the foundation of kindness and generosity. But is there a line of what needs to be shared? Is it possible to share a little too much? Hosting is one of the most generous things you can do for someone, especially if they are in a financial pinch. There probably was a time in your life when you were needing a place to crash, either while traveling, or in between moves, and having a friend opening up their home to you just meant the world.
It feels only natural to pass the good deed forward, but some people are master users and will overstay their welcome to the highest extent. We've all been there, it's not fun.
On Reddit, people are sharing some traumatic hosting experiences, and some people definitely need to learn how to be a guest.
