The OP in this story has no idea what toll giving birth takes out on a woman's body. He expects her to heal in a timely fashion. His wife gave birth a month ago and he thinks that's plenty of time to get back into normal chore duties. The OP is the financial provider so he feels entitled to a clean home. They are both overwhelmed in their own right. But he does not realize that tending to a newborn is way more than a normal house chore. Nursing can be excruciatingly painful. He goes on on about understanding that she needs this time to heal. But then hypocritically shames her for sleeping. He goes into the baby monitor recordings and accuses her of neglected the baby and house chores. She was so shaken that she made the house spotless while he went to the bar with his buddies to cool off. There is some toxic power play here. The comments seem pretty unanimous. But read for yourself to help determine who the real AH is.
With a headline like this our eyebrows are already raising. One month after giving birth is no time at all. Some woman say their bodies feel like they've suffered a car crash after birth. Being expected to have full strength back after a month is just insane. OP has a lot of explaining to do.
OP is appreciated for being the financial provider. That is a given. But there is always more than money needed for raising a baby. Babies need round the clock attention. Keeping them alive is basically a sport. OP thinks things are difficult for him? He can sleep when he wants and only needs to worry about feeding himself.
