Disgruntled Worker Quits Retail Job, Calls Out Management On Store Intercom

When you're working a truly crappy job, it can seem like there's very little to look forward to in life. Most of the hours of your days are spent preparing for, enduring and recovering from a place that sucks all your time, energy and motivation, taking an immeasurable toll on both mental and physical health.

In fact, often one of the only things that can motivate you to get through the working day is the thought that at some point, you're going to be able to quit. Few emotional states beat the satisfaction of turning your back on a role that was making you miserable. The relief is unparalleled, even when you may have no idea where you're going to turn to next.

For most of us, this process involves little more than handing in our notice and waiting for the blessed day to come. If we're feeling particularly dramatic, or the work environment is unimaginably bad, then maybe we stage a walkout instead. However, it's not often that an individual takes their resignation (and the grievances that caused it) to the next level.

This was what happened with @norobkai, after he decided that he was unsatisfied with his job at Walmart and it was time to quit. After what he had experienced in the store, he decided that his departure needed to be a step above the usual.

Taking to TikTok, he filmed himself shortly after he had quit and was exiting the store. This was because he had one last trick before he left for good. He overtook the intercom and made a special announcement to shoppers. In a blistering takedown of the store's management practices, he alleged that supervisors frequently shirked their duties during the busiest times and that they had made fun of an autistic co-worker.

The tough criticism quickly went viral, and there was no shortage of respect for the ex-employee in the comments. Many viewers appreciated the honesty of the gesture, regardless of the consequences.

There's no denying that the move was a brave thing to do, and it may have some people thinking twice about buying from, or working for that branch. That being said, it's possible that it may complicate getting a job elsewhere. Nonetheless, calling out wrongdoing where you see it is a vital skill to have, especially when it involves peoples' livelihoods. Sometimes, all it takes is one person to break the chain.
