Font - amaranthinelux • 6d Whoever says cats don't care has clearly never owned a cat Discussion Two days ago I broke off my engagement due to my partner's infidelity and my girl has not left my side since I came home. My cat has absorbed more tears over the last 10 years than l'd like to admit but even so I feel like she knows that this is a serious event. I'm currently crying myself to sleep and shes snuggled up next to me purring her very hardest with her head on my shoulder. I even noticed t

Font - SamoaMe 6d 100% agree. People who think cats aren't affectionate and loving have never had a cat of their own. Cats love their owners, and they show it. Also, I'm sorry about what you're going through! 仓2.2k Q Reply hotpajamas 6d I adopted a cat because I thought they were "low maintenance" and she would do her own thing, but my cat is extremely affectionate and much more discerning than I thought she would be. She's constantly looking for opportunities to sit in my lap and she even antic

Font - tkd_or_something 5d This one. When I got my kittens, I thought they'd be great cuz I'm busy and they're supposedly low maintenance. Well, one of them sat on my lap while I was taking a dump the other day because she was gonna find a way to get me to pet her damnit. And I think that's a perfect testimony to the fact that if kitty wants affection, they'll find a way to get it, even if it means following their owner into the bathroom and demanding it Imao 1 76 3 Reply +) AlienChickk 5d I can

Font - Mission_Spray 6d ... 100% agree! Expecting a cat to show emotion the way a dog does, will only set you up for disappointment. Another misconception about cats is that they like to be alone, when my experiences have shown they are quite needy and get lonely often. Never again will I be a "one-cat" household. It's not fair to the cat that has to live alone while their humans are away at work. Edit to add: sorry about the ending of your engagement. I hope you will be able to one day move on

Font - BroadMortgage6702 6d One time, as a kid, I had a flu or stomach bug for a week. My furry baby barely left my side to even use the box. Every time I come home she runs up to the door and cries for me. She sleeps next to my head or on my pillow every night. I touch her and she purrs and gives kisses. Never again will I be a "one-cat" household. It's not fair to the cat that has to live alone while their humans are away at work. I feel bad that she's the only cat and alone all day but she's

Font - MissWeaverOfYarns 6d I'm sorry for what you're going through. I know it doesn't feel like it now but you're better off without a cheater. You've got the best possible person with you, too, helping you through it. Your sweet kitty is amazing. Humans are rubbish people a lot of the time. Cats are the best people. My black and white tuxedo boy Tom was an absolute sweetheart. He owned my neighbours and decided to adopt me too. He worked out my schedule pretty quickly and used to walk me to th

Font - One day I was really late. It had snowed, I was in a lot of pain because I'm hypermobile and the icy ground had caused me to strain both my Achilles tendons, and my kneecaps had decided to shift slightly out of alignment as well, so my knees hurt too. What should have been a fifteen minute walk from the station to my house took me over an hour. On the final stretch a complete douche canoe of a cyclist decided to ride on the pavement, despite the road bring clear of traffic, and there bein

Font - Tom, who by this point was old and arthritic, was still breadloafing on the neighbour's gatepost waiting for me. He knew the instant he saw me that something was wrong. He jumped down, ran to me and started winding around my ankles, purring like a motorbike. The cold must have been hurting his joints so bad, he should have been inside eating his dinner at that time, and being warm but he was out waiting for me, ignoring his own pain and discomfort to make sure I was okay, and he saw I was

Font - MariContrary 6d ... They absolutely care! When my husband's all stressed after work, his heart cat jumps on him and basically forces him to lie down on the couch, where she proceeds to sit on his chest and purr at him until he feels better. All while glaring at me like "I'm doing YOUR job. Don't know what you even do around here. I have to do all the work to maintain a happy human." 4 125 O OReply Seabastial 5d ... Font - OnyxRaven13 6d My cat Baby (Rip you furry glorious bastard) is the only reason I'm here today. She hissed, spit, scratched and bit at everyone. Except for me. One day I wasn't in the best headspace, I wanted to leave for good. She head butted me the entire time until I cuddled her. Who would look after my grumpy cat if I was gone? So I stayed for her. I didn't leave. Even when she mellowed out in her old age, she still was mine. That was over 13 years ago. continue on in her memory and to

Font - xo-katie 6d yes! my cat always knows when l'm feeling down and will come snuggle up next to me. she's definitely helped mop up my tears too. cats are far from soulless creatures! 4 92 O Reply RawScallop 6d this is weird because i just had this talk with my nail technician. we were talking about our cats and how i broke up with a guy because he treated my cat and dog badly and said they had no souls. I will never forget that moment. turns out he was an alcoholic asshole

Font - hijinkery144 6d My sweet boy Murphy would lay with me while I recovered from a stroke. It was beyond comforting and helped me find my "normal" baseline. He did this for weeks as I returned from outpatient therapies. Here's the important aspect of his attention that squeezed my heart and bonded our relationship: he always wrapped his front paws around my semi paralyzed left arm and wouldn't leave my side until I woke. It still moves me to tears when I think of that time. I'm beyond blessed

Font - CEWriter 6d Either they never owned a cat or they don't like cats and the cats can feel it. My little tortie (one and half year old) loves to hang around me, but not so much on me (unless it's very cold and after a meal). However if I cry, she gently bites me, and when I'm sick, she turns into a cuddle bug. She also greets me at the door when I come home (and greets anyone she likes loudly) and she will come out of hiding if I call her name or purr loudly whenever I come close to her hidi

Font - VerbalVeggie 6d ... The cat I adopted over furlough who I was told was returned over three times for bad behavior and a bad personality, who is aggressive towards people and other animals.. Is such a love bug. He runs up into my lap if I'm crying and when I'm in pregnancy pain he comes up and lays down next to me and holds onto my arm like he's helping me through it. He loves other people and is a great pseudo brother to the kitten we adopted who was abandoned on our porch. Think he just

Organism - sunshine_witch 6d ... Sometimes I don't even know I'm in a bad spot mentally until my cat tells me. Sorry for what you are going through, that cannot be easy and I know no amount of words will help, but time will. And so ill that sweet kitty. 23 3 Reply Consistent Box8476 6d Yes!
