Anyone who has ever owned cats knows one thing for a fact, and that is that cats care deeply about their humans. All those rumors about cats being cold are untrue. What is true is that sometimes, it takes cats a while to adjust to a new setting, and that's why they can seem a bit aggressive or cold at times, but so long as you treat them with respect and care, they will relax, and they will show you affection.
Another thing that's true is that cats sometimes show love to their humans in funny ways - it's not always obvious. Most of them won't jump up at you at the door and lick your face, but they will curl up with you, they will comfort you when you need them, they will slow blink at you while looking into your eyes, and they will turn around and show you their booties with so much trust in the gesture it will bring tears to your eyes. Cats are different, but they do care, and if you needed any more proof of that, this reddit thread gives it.
We have had similar moments before as well - where our cats saw us struggling and came to provide comfort. It's funny, when we tell people about moments like these, they sometimes don't believe us. But it is true. Cats recognize when you need them, and they will help in whatever capacity they can, even if it's not in the most obvious way.
We have found that the only people who truly believe that cats are terrible pets are people who have never had cats for pets. Now, we're not saying that everyone should have a cat, especially if it's someone who doesn't want them or mistreat them, but we do think that it could do some people some good to maybe hang out at a place where someone else owns a cat. It won't take long for them to change their minds about cats if they do that.
