Friends should always support friends in times of need. Unless, of course, you're married to this guy.
Redditor u/PrivateTalk7990 posted to the popular moral judgment community r/AmITheAsshole after growing frustrated that his wife's commitment to supporting a childhood friend as they go through chemotherapy by accompanying them to appointments was negatively impacting his life. Namely, OP described realizing that he had a problem with this when he could not go see his friends, or have lunch with his mother and sister, because OP had to stay at home with his son while his wife was at chemotherapy.
As you can probably imagine, this Redditor was thoroughly roasted in the comments of this post and deemed an A-hole indeed. As it turns out, showing discontent toward someone actively going through chemotherapy for a cancer diagnosis isn't going to grant you much love from the public; neither will making it seem like you don't think looking after your son is your job, or admitting that your own mother doesn't want to see her grandchildren.
It's unfortunate that people have to go to the internet to be told they should stop whining about having to be a parent. For more wild parenting stories, check out the dad who left his daughter on the roof in the cold to teach her a lesson.
