Guys and girls may be similar in many ways, but certain aspects also make us really different. Even though we technically speak the same language, we definitely communicate differently. Because of what we saw in TV and movies, we became convinced that men often engage in 'locker room talk' way more often than women do. Urban Dictionary defines 'locker room talk' as 'any manner of conversation that polite society dictates be held privately - with small groups of like-minded, similarly gendered peers - due to its sexually charged language, situations or innuendos.' Even though we've never experienced locker room talk in our own conversations with men, we simply assumed they were having it behind closed doors. In an AskMen post, somebody asked men in long-term relationships about their thoughts on locker room talk, and a lot of them said that it's not the norm at all. Color us pleasantly surprised. Take a look at their thoughts below.
Guys aren't as down to participate in locker room talk as we thought.
This is the most common take we saw in the thread, and it's very refreshing.
