We're Not Familiar With The Dog Grinch

Font - I (22F) feel like the dog grinch writing this so bear with me. I have a corgi. And, as you might imagine, everyday I walk my dog I get strangers blowing kisses, whistling, yelling "oh my god look! a corgi!" To the point where my dog hears "corgi" and she knows it's her. At first this was cute and all, but when you walk your dog everyday it starts to get a little bit annoying since they want to pet her. Which, at first didn't bother me since I met people who would at least make eye contact

    We Love The Butt Wiggles

Font - My dog is super friendly and will give you cute eyes and the butt wiggles if you are showing interest in her so it makes it extra hard for me to get them to understand that I do not want to be approached. I will loudly say, "let's go!" or "no", my dog gets the cue but it seems the people do not. I was out with family, figuring out where to go. My dog, is right in front of me in a tight leash laying down taking a break, and I can hear the classic, "corgi!" Serveral times behind me, which I

    That Update Is Too Funny

Font - She repeated what I had said with a (?) " your dog came to me" which was a lie, my dog only stood up and looked (as anyone would do if you were yelling at them). I said, "you could have come and asked me first if you could pet her or not"... And that's when the verbal abuse began, she called me a bitch which I will admit it is a bit fair. I said ok. it didn't end there. Ugly cnt, btch Etc.. Etc.. it lasted about 2 minutes. I just kept saying ok, and telling her to walk off" I genuily don'

    People Normally Can't Control Themselves

Font - PR liet Cutesy-potatoe. 8 days ago Partassipant [1] Didnt réalise corgis were such a rare sight that people can't control themselves. No matter how happy and friendly a dog looks you do not randomly pet it M'y dog is happy and friendly but is also incredibly anxious and doesn't like being touched randomly by strangers. Boundaries are needed. ΝΤΑ

Good Point To Think Of The Dog Here

Font - Heavy metal_octopus ΝΤΑ • 7 days ago I'm just worried the walks might be a bit stressful for your dog. I cannot really know that, I'm just pointing it out for you to think how you can sort it out. Not only the constant stranger's approaching (again idk how much it happens) but also your stress and the way you act when you try to avoid being approached.

    Pick Your Battles, Sister

Font - Jumika- 7 days ago NTA In this situation, but some situations you describe, are not offensive at all. How is blowing kisses at your dog bad and annoying? Even asking you to touch them isn't anything that should be annoying you at all. Don't get me wrong. I have corgi-mix. And she does not like the attention of strangers at all. Particularly of strange children. I keep her on short leash and away and people still allow their kids to even sneak up on us from behind. They encourage them even

    It's The Adults, Always

Font - JO the-benn-experience 8 days ago . Asshole Aficionado [10] NTA. We tell kids to ask permission before petting other people's dogs. This principal also applies to adults on vacation. I have still to meet a kid that doesn't ask permission, and they always approach me slowly. It is always adults I have issues with. Vote Reply Share

    Manners? What Manners?

Font - katd821778 days ago ΝΤΑ Seriously what ever happened to manners? I was always taught as a kid that you have to ask the owner first before petting a dog (because I was full-on one of those kids who loved any animal) When it comes to other peoples pets, ask first!

Good Thing No One Got Bit

Font - carton_of_cats 8 days ago NTA, and she's probably the type to blame you if she had aggravated your dog and got bitten. Maybe you could get her a service dog-like vest that says "please don't pet me"? That may stop some people. Reply Give Award Share Report Save Follow Vote
