As far as lists of controversial topics go, 'ice cream' has to be pretty far down the list. It's hard to find someone who would say no to a scoop of ice cream, right? Dig a little deeper, though, and we find that things aren't always so sweet in the world of cold, dairy-based desserts. There are perhaps too many people out there in the world who love ice cream, and it means that they've formed some pretty strong, tribalistic loyalties when it comes to their favorite flavors.
Somebody who found this out recently was the person behind the @magoosicecream TikTok account, who did a fine job whipping up controversy after posting a video about ice cream flavors that they believed "should be illegal". Viewers were quick to jump to the defense of almost every combination they decided to put on the list. They may be wrong on most counts, but this has got to be great PR for the many dark horses in your average ice cream shop freezer.
