Just like your family, you can't choose your co-workers (unless you're the hiring manager). However, unlike family, your colleagues aren't expected to love and cherish you — no matter how many unbearable team building exercises that you are forced to do together. Everyone deserves a certain level of respect from those that they work with, but not everybody gets it. In fact, sometimes a cranky co-worker can be one of the worst parts of the job. The workplace can put us in close proximity to people that we wouldn't usually be around, and it's fair to say that they don't always like this that much.
This has been underlined in a thread started by @prettyboynavi, commenting on the fact that colleagues didn't take age into account when it came to falling out with each other. Multiple other Twitter users backed up this theory, with many claiming that their older co-workers didn't seem to enjoy working with them. The generation gap is never so obvious than when we're all making money the same way.
