Imagine getting fired from your position only to then receive texts enquiring as to the status of certain aspects of your role. Well, Redditor u/ScooterBobb didn't have to imagine this as this bizarre scenario became a reality for them after their boss texted them trying to figure out whether or not they had placed orders and conducted an inventory for the coming week.
The original poster submitted screenshots of the text to both the r/kitchenconfidential and r/antiwork subredddits. Both threads were titled "I'm still in shock." The post gained a lot of momentum on the Kitchen Confidential subreddit, earning 9k upvotes. This was overshadowed by the Antiwork submission that went viral after hitting the front page of Reddit's r/all and has gathered 135k upvotes as of the writing of this post.
Commenters applauded the original poster's responses to their boss and provided some suggested responses of their own.
"I was rolling on "Bless your heart." 😂😂" replied u/_Alazne_
u/repostsIuetbot suggested a suitable response saying, "'As I am no longer under a contract, I'm happy to assist under my standard consultant fee schedule. $130/hour, 4-hour minimum.'"
