19-Year-Old Dachshund Gets Left in the Dust During a Race, But Crowd Cheers Him On As He Adorably Emerges in a Slow Happy Trot

Dachshunds are adorable pups with short little stubby legs, floppy ears, and a long body. They're energetic as a pup and were even initially bred to hunt badgers, so they've got some spunk. But, have you seen them when they're seniors? They are still all that adorableness, but slower and greyed up.

One senior dog, Turbo, is 19 and still in the races. A community in Kansas does a fund-raising event every year where they have dachshunds race. It's not a serious race and it's mostly for adorable points. This year was made even more epically adorable by Turbo.

The old man doesn't run like he used to, so when the start cue was made, he just sat there, waiting in his little cubby. All the other younger pups are buzzing all around him running back and forth like happy excited children. Turbo is sitting safe and sound in his little cubby as if he this interrupted his nap.

The crowd noticed and started chuckling at this adorable senior dog's stubbornness. Eventually, a person started cheering Turbo's name to encourage him to come out. Many other's in the crowd joined in! He peeked out, but ultimately, it was a woman bending down and convincing him with treats, that convinced Turbo to slowly trot out.

However, it wasn't a race trot, as if he was trying to make it to the finish line. Oh no. It was more like he was strutting his stuff down the catwalk of Fashion Week. We love you Turbo! You won in all of our hearts.
