Father of the bride books wedding venue only for daughter to have homewrecking stepdad walk her down the aisle

Wedding planning always brings drama, especially when there are complicated family dynamics involved. In this case, u/CultureFantastic4947 opened up on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit with a thread detailing his falling out with his own daughter before her big wedding day.

The twist is that he doesn't seem to be the bad guy here at all. u/CultureFantastic4947 explains that he and his ex-wife Tracy divorced years ago after she cheated on him with Stan, whom she later remarried. The divorced couple has three adult children together, the youngest being Victoria (23). They never explained the details of why the two got divorced for fear of creating an imbalance, but for a long time, the children blamed their dad because the optics didn't look great for him. Tracy moved out of the house and makes considerably less money. She's also the less strict parent of the two of them. 

When Victoria's boyfriend asked u/CultureFantastic4947 for his blessing before he proposed, Victoria's Dad was pleasantly surprised and delighted to help out with the wedding. They booked a venue together and things were seemingly on the mend. That is, until Victoria became more and more distant, and her Dad later found out that she threw an engagement party without inviting him. To make matters much worse, she posted a picture on social media of her and Stan, announcing that he would be walking her down the aisle because, as she put it, "anyone can be a father. It takes a real man to be a Dad."

After getting no help from Tracy, u/CultureFantastic4947 had an unfortunate confrontation with Victoria, who refused to change her mind and allow her Dad to participate in walking her down the aisle. That was the breaking point for u/CultureFantastic4947, who decided to that if this is what Victoria and Stan really wanted, Stan can pay for the next deposit. Although the rest of his family thinks Victoria's father is out of line, other Redditors seem to agree that this was completely valid.
