'Yeah, that's not really respectful': Hotel receptionist expertly shutdowns a male Karen customer throwing a tantrum

If there is a career path that has to deal with Karens the most, it's hotel staff. Every single person who works in a hotel always gets the brunt of a Karen customer's tantrum. The front desk, the maids, the kitchen, the bellhop, etc.—if you work at a hotel, you are instantly a possible Karen target. 

A woman who works at the front desk of a hotel recently had an encounter with a male Karen and decided to discreetly record the situation going down. The man had initially booked a room with two queen beds for his family of four, but decided to cancel that because it was too expensive. So then he went through booking.com and booked a new/cheaper room—a king suite with a pull out couch. However, when he got to the hotel he still expected to get the room he had canceled. The hotel was completely booked up, so there was no possible way of rearranging that for him, so he through an expert-Karen level fit. He blamed the mistake on the front desk woman, which it was clearly not her fault. He demanded she cancel a random person's reservation so he could take their room. He talked as if there was no possible way to share a king size bed and queen sized pull out couch with his wife and two children. He even spit on the floor and started threatening an innocent bystander who tried to step in to help with the situation.

What it appears is that the man was just trying to get the more expensive room he had canceled because he couldn't afford it, for the cheaper price as the room he actually ended up booking through the third party. He was trying to use his best intimidation tactics like the classic Karen of threatening to get her fired, he threatened to take his business elsewhere (like she even wanted it anymore at this point), he tried angrily and silently staring at her like he was a serial killer, he even started spitting on the floor just to really add the childish cherry on top of his Karen-level tantrum. 

But the expert hotel receptionist kept her cool and responded calmly, even when reprimanding him for his immature and disrespectful actions. Never once did she raise her voice, use foul language, or start a fruitless argument with the inconsolable male-Karen. She simply kept trying to explain the situation in different ways to the ignorant man, and when he started to get out of hand, she simply said she will go ahead and cancel the reservation for him.

In the video she notes that even though she is keeping her cool and responding professional, she is internally reconsidering her job. Many viewers are commenting that people like this man is the reason so many are opting to never work in customer service. Even after the insane tantrum this man threw, he came back with his tail tucked between his legs and did what she suggested.
