Cats and water have always stereotypically been foes. But with a quick search on the Internet, you will easily find cats who love the water. Whether you have a cat who loves it or hates it, you cannot avoid the inevitable—sometimes your kitty needs a bath. Now, cats usually are very clean and bath themselves, rarely needing an actual bath. But often times when cats are rescued off the streets they are covered in mud, fleas, and who knows what else. A bath is very necessary in this scenario. Recently, a cat rescuer in Brooklyn posted a video of her giving a recently rescued kitten a sink bath and viewers are amazed at 1) how well behaved this kitten is while getting a bath, like he knew it was going to help him. And 2) how much more life he appeared to have right afterwards, as if he had just taken a bath in the fountain of youth.

The kitten that the rescuer named Harold is dipped into a pot sitting in the sink full of soapy water. She holds Harold by his scruff like a mama cat would and gives him a slow dip. Usually, that's when cats will start to at least squirm with discomfort from the water, but not Harold. This sweet little guy seemed like he knew he needed a bath. He just calmly allowed the rescuer to lightly scrub the fleas away from him and even wipe his face down. At the end she rinses him straight from the faucet and even gives his tush a little squeeze to get rid of the excess water.

The entire process is simply adorable and surprisingly calming. You just don't usually think a video of a cat taking a bath would be calming because cats tend to hate water, but this kitten is having a serious spa day.

After the bath Harold is completely transformed. He went from defeated dirty kitten full of fleas, to a clean fluffy white and black cat full of life. He seems like he is 110% better and ready to take on life. A complete 180 from the cat that's first shown going into the cat soup. Viewers are tickled with warmed hearts by this video. It shows that sometimes a nice relaxing bath really can be the cure.
