Nurses deserve more respect than they get. They don't get paid enough for what they do. They are the backbone for any hospital. Most nurses have been working at their hospital longer than most of the doctors there and they are truly on the team of the patients, not some big Pharma. A nurse named Autumn has taken to social media to share her horrific stories from working as a nurse in the ER.

She has countless stories of unbelievable experiences. Many doctors who are fresh out of school and think they know it all. The thing about medicine is that education can only take you so far, the rest is in experience. So if you don't trust your charge nurses as a doctor, than you're going to have a serious problem. For example, Autumn noticed some serious symptoms with one of her patients and went to the doctor to see what she should do. He belittled her and basically told her she shouldn't even be questioning the doctors. She's been in the game long enough to not take that crap, so she made a call to their attending and got the respect she deserved.

Another situation with a brand new doctor was when the doctor gave her orders to do something dangerous to a patient and she refused. The doctor was flabbergasted and demanded she follow their orders—because after all, they're the doctor and she is just the nurse. She made sure to explain to that new doctor that her job was to make sure new doctors like them who doesn't have as much experience as the nurses doesn't end up accidentally ending their patient's life.

It's not just the doctors that nurses have to deal with, it's also getting labs. Patients constantly need labs down to figure out what is causing them their issues. Apparently, one time a lab contacted her, instantly insulted her and her team of nurses, and made up a random “policy” saying she had to listen to her. The amount of times this nurse has to defend herself and her skills is absurd, but she proves over and over again that it's just part of the job.
